The Technical Briefing - VoIP

Do you spend too much on your phone bill?
Do you prefer an International roaming facility on your phone with “no extra cost”?
Or is your traditional telephone overdue a replacement?

If the answer is yes to any one of these question, then the following presentation is just for you!

The above Technical Briefing on VoIP was presented by me as the 11th speech at Inner Universe Toastmasters Chapter.

Below are some of the audiences' comments about this presentation which are of immense value to me.

“A wonderful presentation. You made the technical subject more enjoyable by making it very simple. A power point presentation could have added more value.” – TM Anil Kumar
---I had my power point slides and laptop ready, unfortunately projector wasn’t available at meeting hall. I had to manage with a flip chart.

“Excellent technical know – how. Well presented. Wish you had more time – for its worth listening such speeches. All the best for your next speech/project” – Madam Sylvia
---The speech requirement was that I should finish it in 10 mins.

“An excellent introduction of VoIP. We have been using this since last 6 yrs in India & UK.” – TM Bharat

"Very nicely presented a subject which is of technical nature. Best of luck for all future projects." - ACB Sudha Datta

a Taj Mahal Moment*

It’s been a year and a half that I’ve started playing squash on an on and off basis. And started playing for The Petroleum Institute not long back but just from the past 3 months. This inclusion in the team wasn’t on the basis of my performance rather the lack of availability of senior players due to their personal and/or professional commitments. Excited and happy I started my official journey in squash with The Petroleum Institute by playing in Abu Dhabi Squash League.

That time I just had one dream – to feel the feeling that one feels after winning a game! Every match I played, played with this dream in my mind. And last nights match was no different.

My opponent won the toss, game started and the ball gets rolling in the court. I had just one intention – to create that Taj Mahal moment. After so many ups and downs I was serving at 13 – 13. I told myself “you are going to make it”. And yes, I made it! I was now serving at 14 – 13. I was standing at that point where I could see my Taj Mahal moment but can’t hug it saying its mine! With all these thoughts running in my mind I served for my Taj Mahal moment…my opponent returned the serve but… “out! 15 – 13”, said the referee. And there I go…a lil pump in the air, excited and happy me, was celebrating my moment. I had created that Taj Mahal moment for which I was waiting for months.

At the end though I didn’t win the match (15-13,4-15,6-15,13-15) but I was very successful in creating my Taj Mahal moment which will serve me as an inspiration to create many more Taj Mahal moments in my life and others too!!!

how it happened....?

As soon as I finished my 11th speech at Toastmasters (1st from Technical Presentations), I started looking for a subject which will best suit the objective of the second speech - "The Proposal". During my search it so happened that The Petroleum Institute, where I work, hosted a Tactile Tasks and Technical Tips conference. And when I saw the agenda something caught my attention "Better Blogging Thru' Social Networking" by Vance Stevens. And there I said, "yes, I got my topic".
