Jan 17th - what's so special!?

We all have heard about New Years Day, Father's Day, Love Your Pet's Day, Valentine's Day and so on. But did we ever hear of "Dicth Your New Year's Resolutions Day"? It might sound us strange but it is celebrated wolrd wide.

Just a simple Google search will fetch us hundred's of free e-greetings!

That was a typical example from one of the popular free e-greetings site 123greetings.com.
If resolutions are meant to be broken then what is it that should keep us focused for rest of the year or for that matter for rest of our life to achieve our targets and be successful?
The solution lies in understanding the simple difference between a resolution and a goal.

In simple words, resolution is nothing but a "to-be" list while goals are a "to-do" list in which a person is more realistic in his approach and is determined to achieve his targets.

A simple example is given below which we might relate to ourselves when working on a "to-be" list.

Let us now understand what goals are and what strategy to be followed in preparing a "to-do" list.

Now, a question arises that what areas of life one has to consider while making goals? Below slide will help us plan and set our goals in different areas of our life. Remeber that this is just to provide an idea, this doesn't mean that we have to have our goals in each and every area mentioned below.

Now, we are aware of what resolutions are, what goals are, the strategy to make a "to-do" list and also the areas to consider in making that list. Here is now a templete to help us prepare that list in an organized way. Again, this is just to give us an idea. We can very well change the format, add/delete any field or even have a completely different way of writing our goals/to-do list.

I remember someone saying "People who have their goals set, know where they are going"
