Vizag - A must visit place

After postponing it for more than 2 years, it finally happened during my last vacation in july. Everytime I went on vacation I had this plan in mind that, (did someone say marriage!? - oh, no!) I will visit Vizag. But that never really happend untill that very special date 07/07/07 when we(two friends, azeem and liaquath and myself) reached Vizag in the morning at around 11 by bus.

After getting fresh and having biryani at the lodge(Shymala paradise) we headed towards the first location in Vizag, Kailashgiri Hills. I could not believe myself when i saw that one of my dream is soon gng to be a reality - having a cabin rope ride. Well, lil i knew that it was just the begining...Now, let the pictures do the talking!

When was the last time...

If you have noticed me doing something unusual these days then that’s probably because I was trying to find an answer for "when was the last time i did something for the first time!?" :)

This question kept me doing some weird things for quite some time now, but nothing of what I did give me a convincing answer. it was that evening when I was coming out of Carrefour doing some shopping that Mr. Anil Kumar called me and asked, whether I could be the Toastmaster of the evening for a joint meeting? well, it was this kind of opportunity that could be a good answer for which I was looking for from a long time.hesitantly I replied, that’s a difficult job, i am not sure if I will be able to deliver my best, but I will take it up if you people are helping me. Well, that was the starting point of doing "something for the first time".

TM Chandresh was co-toastmaster of the evening and we both started preparing the script and PowerPoint presentation based on the theme for the meeting - "Learning by Sharing". The whole process starting from contacting the role players, preparing their intros, deciding who will do what, rehearsals and everything else...till the end of meeting, was a unique and completely a learning by sharing experience. At the end of the meeting i felt that this evening I found a convincing answer to the question "when was the last time i did something for the first time!?"

Below are the slides that we shared during our learning process.

Jan 17th - what's so special!?

We all have heard about New Years Day, Father's Day, Love Your Pet's Day, Valentine's Day and so on. But did we ever hear of "Dicth Your New Year's Resolutions Day"? It might sound us strange but it is celebrated wolrd wide.

Just a simple Google search will fetch us hundred's of free e-greetings!

That was a typical example from one of the popular free e-greetings site 123greetings.com.
If resolutions are meant to be broken then what is it that should keep us focused for rest of the year or for that matter for rest of our life to achieve our targets and be successful?
The solution lies in understanding the simple difference between a resolution and a goal.

In simple words, resolution is nothing but a "to-be" list while goals are a "to-do" list in which a person is more realistic in his approach and is determined to achieve his targets.

A simple example is given below which we might relate to ourselves when working on a "to-be" list.

Let us now understand what goals are and what strategy to be followed in preparing a "to-do" list.

Now, a question arises that what areas of life one has to consider while making goals? Below slide will help us plan and set our goals in different areas of our life. Remeber that this is just to provide an idea, this doesn't mean that we have to have our goals in each and every area mentioned below.

Now, we are aware of what resolutions are, what goals are, the strategy to make a "to-do" list and also the areas to consider in making that list. Here is now a templete to help us prepare that list in an organized way. Again, this is just to give us an idea. We can very well change the format, add/delete any field or even have a completely different way of writing our goals/to-do list.

I remember someone saying "People who have their goals set, know where they are going"
